The intensity correlation function of “blinking” quantum systems

چکیده
Explicit expressions are determined for the photon correlation function of “blinking” quantum systems, i.e. systems with different types of fluorescent periods. These expressions can be used for a fit to experimental data and for obtaining system parameters therefrom. For two dipole-dipole interacting V systems the dependence on the dipole coupling constant is explicitly given and shown to be particularly pronounced if the strong driving is reduced. We propose to use this for an experimental verification of the dipole-dipole interaction. PACS numbers: 42.50.Ar, 42.50.Fx, 42.50.Lc, 32.90.+a Submitted to: J. Opt. B: Quantum Semiclass. Opt.

Mechanisms of fluorescence blinking in semiconductor nanocrystal quantum dots.
The light-induced spectral diffusion and fluorescence intermittency (blinking) of semiconductor nanocrystal quantum dots are investigated theoretically using a diffusion-controlled electron-transfer (DCET) model, where a light-induced one-dimensional diffusion process in energy space is considered. Unlike the conventional electron-transfer reactions with simple exponential kinetics, the model n...
متن کاملAging correlation functions for blinking nanocrystals, and other on-off stochastic processes.
Following recent experiments on power law blinking behavior of single nanocrystals, we calculate two-time intensity correlation functions I(t)I(t+t') for these systems. We use a simple two state (on and off) stochastic model to describe the dynamics. We classify possible behaviors of the correlation function and show that aging, e.g., dependence of the correlation function on age of process t, ...
متن کاملAn experimental and theoretical mechanistic study of biexciton quantum yield enhancement in single quantum dots near gold nanoparticles.
In this work, we systematically investigated the plasmonic effect on blinking, photon antibunching behavior and biexciton emission of single CdSe/CdS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) near gold nanoparticles (NPs) with a silica shell (Au@SiO2). In order to obtain a strong interaction between the plasmons and excitons, the Au@SiO2 NPs and CdSe/CdS QDs of appropriate sizes were chosen so that the pla...
متن کاملTime-dependent analysis of carrier density and potential energy in spherical centered defect InGaAs/AlGaAs quantum dot (SCDQD)
Interaction and correlation effects in quantum dots play a fundamental role in defining both their equilibrium and transport properties. Numerical methods are commonly employed to study such systems. In this paper we investigate the numerical calculation of quantum transport of electrons in spherical centered defect InGaAs/AlGaAs quantum dot (SCDQD). The simulation is based on the imaginary time...
متن کاملThe Effect of Exchange-Correlation Holes on the Temperature Dependent Dynamic Dielectric Function of Single-Layer Quantum Wells and Coupled Nanolayers
In this paper, for the first time we have studied theoretically the effect of exchange-correlation holes around electrons in GaAlAs/GaAs/GaAlAs nanostructure on the temperature-dependent dynamic dielectric function of two-dimensional electron gas by employing random phase, STLS and Hubbard approximations. Also, we have investigated another interesting system which is coupled quantum wells struc...
